The Memphis Medical District Collaborative (MMDC) and the Downtown Memphis Commission (DMC) brought the district's brand-new bike lane sweeper directly to the Memphis Social Bicycle Club (MSBC), integrating a hands-on training session into the club's weekly evening route. The stop added a mission moment to the momentum the group builds every time they hit the pavement. Co-funded by MMDC, DMC, and Street Fair through an League of American Bicyclists grant, the compact machine is designed to clean narrow corridors standard city street sweepers can’t always reach.
The interactive workshop gave cyclists a detailed look at the machinery in action while keeping the ride moving.
