Memphis Medical District Collaborative (MMDC) President Rory Thomas was recently voted #1 on the Memphis Business Journal's Power 100 list, recognizing the city's most influential business leaders. MBJ listed President Thomas among "The Connectors"  — people who are at the center of important activities and initiatives.

The Medical District was well-represented at the Power 100 event, with several MMDC board members and leaders from anchor institutions and partners also making the annual list. These included Pitt Hyde and Barbara Hyde(Hyde Foundation), Dr. Peter Buckley (UTHSC), Dr. Reginald Coopwood (Regional One Health), Dr. Tracy Hall (Southwest Tennessee Community College), Doug McGowan (MLGW), Richard C. Shadyac, Jr. (ALSAC/St. Jude), Chandell Ryan (Downtown Memphis Commission), and Michael Ugwueke (Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare).
